Family of 3, two adults and a 15 year old. We stayed in a reserve collection mini suite on deck 12, we are platinum with Princess, we booked flights and hotels separately so this was a cruise only with Princess. The Embarkation was one of the easiest we have ever done, 20 mins from arriving to being on the ship. Our board time was 11am. The ship was well kept as you would expect and the staff onboard were amazing as always. We ate at Sabatini's and the Crown Grill twice, which were both very good. We did try the breakfast in the buffet which was ok we tended to use the reserve restaurant for breakfast, lunch when we could and evening. We also ate at Gigi's pizza one lunchtime which was very nice. A couple of negatives, the ship lacks a pub / sports bar and draught beer, O'Malley's on this ship doesn't do it because of the location. Entertainment and entertainment team, we have been on ships with better. However the production shows were very good.
Enchanted Princess cruising tips. Hey Cruisers: My 93 year old mother, who uses a manual wheelchair, and I just disembarked from the Enchanted yesterday after completing the 14 day Solar Eclipse cruise. Our previous Princess cruises were on the Grand, Sapphire, Diamond, Caribbean and Regal, accumulating 150 days to achieve Elite Status. Each Princess class of ships offers slightly different cruising experiences. This Enchanted sail was no different. Here are some thoughts. Buffet: Just like the Regal the Enchanted buffet can be entered 4 different ways, two from the midship and two from the aft elevators. Breakfast technically opens at 6a, but the “light” breakfast area opens at 5:30, which includes many of the hot items that the full service has. My go-tos were streaky and English bacon, sunny side up eggs, lox, potatoes, both wedged and a diced potatoes and ham. The bakery section is also open at 5:30 Lunch Buffet: Technically opens at 11:30a but they are usually set up by 11:20a. Even though it’s crowded between noon and 1:30p on open days, there always seemed to be an open table. Late lunchers can eat until about 3p. Lido food: Slice: rarely a wait. Always seemed to have some of 4 different varieties to choose from. Salty Dog: Always busy, but hand out pagers to let you know when your order’s ready. Between 10 and 15 minutes if busy. Suggest ordering first, then find a table. Just remember you need to be out near the pool deck to receive the transmission. Dinner logistics: If you have not already done so, make sure you reserve your table reservations in advance. Amalfi is the rear dining room. Around 5p the aft elevators are busy going down to deck 6. Suggest taking the scenic route and going up to go down to guarantee a spot. Capri always had a line waiting to get in. Sometimes their line stretched all the way past future cruises. Platinum/Elite happy hour—held in Vista on deck 7 aft. Usually not too busy about 10 mins after opening. Also, open on formal nights. Some ships this was closed on formal nights. Trivia: Princess Live is the place to be. We had very solid group of “Entertainment” hosts and hostesses. Events seemed to get busier as the cruise progressed. The programming on this cruise skewed a little towards the “yutes” with events like Harry Potter, Disney, Simpsons and Disney, as well as songs from the 2000’s, but everyday at 10a and 4p there was a 20 question general trivia session for the regulars. Here’s hoping there will be more 50’s thru 70’s events. Suggest arriving 15 minutes before events to secure a table for your group. The room can fill up fast. Theatre: For wheelchairs and the disabled, unlike some of the older ships where you have to choose between either walking up a short flight of stairs on deck 7 and sitting in the nose bleed section or walking on the sides of deck 6 and walking up a short flight, on the Enchanted deck 6 you can go straight to the main floor stalls without a barrier. In addition, there a numerous handicap seats with blue seat covers to help identify their location. Remember, try to show up about 30 minutes before shows to secure, especially on Princess Production nights. Bingo and Deal or No Deal: Both events are moneymakers for the ship, especially Deal or No Deal. For us, DND was fun to watch but we never played. Out of 4 DND’s the best won was $233 and worst was $.50. For bingo, on the second evening between 8:30 and 10:30p, you can pick up a FREE red coverall card to be used the next morning in game 4 of the 11a session(about 11:30a) in Vista lounge. Accessible boarding and port stop disembarks: Wheelchairs have priority. Sometimes lines can get long. If you are with someone in a chair or can’t stand a long time, you have priority. Please don’t be shy and ask for assistance if needed. Princess has been very good in this department. Piazza: The central meeting space on deck 5, the Piazza is much larger on this ship than the Sapphire, Diamonds and Grand. One “not to be missed “ event is the Princess World Orchestra. Laugh Lounge: Regular comedians performed in the aft lounge on deck 7, called the Vista Lounge. They’d usually have a couple early shows for all ages then their “after hours” shows after 9p Deck 7 corridor drink tips: The bar right by Princess Live is always busy. For faster service walk about 40 feet aft to the Crown Grill Bar. It is never crowded. Overall, we enjoyed everything about the ship except the fact that this ship class has no Skywalker’s Lounge on the top deck aft.
