Ship Reviews

July 24 2026 round trip Reykjavík 10 days Stateroom: both roomykeys do not work , stain on bed sheets, broken cloth hanger, tooth pick on floor, hair dryer broken, no bath robe, no slippers, shampoo and conditioner needs refilled. Communicate by leaving note for state room attendant. Dining room and buffet restaurant: drinks such as coffee, tea, juices delivered accuracy about 60%. Be prepared to take whatever presented to you. Alcohol delivered accurately no issues at all. Specialty dining food and service excellent Overall Food great with good variety. Production crew excellent, singers, dancers, choreography beautifully put together. Educational talk very professional Room service for hot water, need to call twice Dock: tender required while 2 others ship , Queen Anne and star pride docked at pier Similar itinerary with other cruise line costs about 50-100 percent less depending on room. Not able to justify the price, definitely not luxury.

Went on the "Wonders of Iceland" voyage. Despite some issues, an excellent cruise. The Good (in order): 1. Embarkation and disembarkation: this was a breeze--we were given a time slot to board the ship and simply dropped off our luggage and walked right on. Breath of fresh air vs. other cruise lines 2. Room stewards were attentive and friendly. Cabin was kept spotless 3. Little things like colorful plastic luggage tags and instructions (with deck plans, etc.) sent to us in advance. 4. The small ship size allowed it to get into ports other ships cannot--this was HUGE, as we were able to simply walk off the ship without tendering in many of the ports. 5. The excursions we went on were excellent--the best I have been on with any cruise line to date. From driving ATVs up a volcano to visiting micro-breweries. 6. Food in the Terrace Grill (buffet) was very good, and there was a lot of variety. This buffet was considerably better than other lines I have been on, and almost every day they had sushi. 7. Food at the Wave Grill (outside by the pool) was excellent. I had maybe the best burger I've ever had there (with blue cheese, apple butter, caramelized onions ...). 8. Food at Toscana, the Italian speciality restaurant, was terrific. Absolutely top-notch, and service was excellent. 9. Horizons lounge is really nice, and they typically play ambient music, alternative rock, folk rock (Icelandic), etc. while you enjoy cocktails and look at the scenery outside. My favorite spot on the ship. The Mediocre: 1. The ship is showing its age. It is clean, but the cabin bathrooms are tiny, some of the spaces are a bit cramped (the Terrace Grill can be hard to navigate), and there aren't activities like pickle ball, basketball courts, etc. on deck. The ship is not anywhere near as elegant as Oceania's newer vessels. 2. Laundry room is shabby, with a couple broken machines (although they were fixed). 3. At times, the waiters in the lounges would vanish The Bad: 1. Service in the Grand Dining Room was a big problem. On the first night, it took 30 minutes for the waiter to get to us, and 45 minutes for the sommelier to appear. Dirty dishes were bused and piled on a table 3 feet from me. On the second night, dinner took 2 1/2 hours. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed, and I suspect it was because serving up a 5-6 course meal every night is logistically difficult. When I was on Celebrity, it was typically 3 course done right--Oceania is trying to do too much here. 2. The Polo Grill was a disappointment. There was a lobster shell in my filet--which is just inexcusable. The food was decent, but not memorable. When I mentioned the lobster shell, the waiter didn't seem to care. Oceania can't afford missteps like that. 3. Some passengers reported that excursions were canceled because of weather--specifically ones involving whale-watching, etc. Another passenger said a "taste of Iceland" excursion was a complete let-down. Didn't impact us, but I thought I would mention it here. This was a cruise geared towards itinerary, excursions, and sight-seeing, not a luxurious playground at see. The passengers were quite old, which was a bit surprising, considering the very active nature of the excursions (lots of hiking, etc,.). If you go in with the correct expectations you will not be disappointed.

Third Oceania cruise. We were on Concierge floor-- no lounge so extra price with little return. Cabins were fine but bathrooms too small by far. Staff and crew were great--our room attendant barista bar especially. Food in main dining room and 2 specialty restaurants was better than expected. Our real issue was Oceania admin at home office--initially booked us into hotel in Oslo though cruise left from Copenhagen-- I had to call and correct. Booked our business class flight thru Lisbon from Boston with totally inadequate time to clear customs given European delays due to biometric data collection. We talked our way to front of line and when we raised the issue at embarkation, were told by ships officer that we should have checked that ourselves before accepting their booking?!? Most cruisers we met had had similar issues getting to Copenhagen if their flights were booked by Oceania. Overall a terrible way to start. " relaxing" cruise.
