Ship Reviews

We are in our 40s, travelled with 4 year old and a group of teenagers (group of 9). Excellent cruise. Loved entertainment, especially daily parties. Good job Leo Dickson, cruise director. Meraviglia is a beautiful ship. My only suggestion is I wish the ship had more wooden panels that would make it look like a ship rather than hotel. Excellent food if compared to the price paid. Room attendant “Sassy” made our experience so much better, always greeted us with smile on his face. He deserves a raise. He looks very charismatic, could be a great addition to entertainment team. Private island was a paradise. Very small, easy to navigate island with hard surface trails, which is very comfortable for people with strollers or on wheelchairs. The only regret is they are going to discontinue operations from New York. Will miss them. My family cruises 4-5 times a year, only from New York or Baltimore. Will miss sailing with MSC.

Cruise Review – MSC Meraviglia (Nov. 2–9) Sailing Out of Brooklyn, NY If you ever wanted to know what it feels like to vacation on a floating city with a whole lot of luggage, a whole lot of kids, and a whole lot of people who really love cruising—welcome aboard the MSC Meraviglia. First Impressions Sailing out of Brooklyn was smooth—no drama, no major chaos, nobody threatening to “talk to corporate.” Once on board, I discovered a surprising mix of passengers: a LARGE number of Asian travelers and enough school-aged kids to start a whole school district. I found this unexpected as the school was in session.. If you were hoping for peace and quiet energy… yeah, that wasn't the case . The Ship The Meraviglia is clean, shiny, modern, and well-kept. You won’t feel like you’re on an old Margaretville ship. HOWEVER—if you’ve been on her sister ship the MSC Seashore, you already know the Seashore is the elegant sister. The one that shows up to dinner in heels. The Meraviglia is the sporty sister: cute, friendly, but not trying to compete. . Main Dining Room Drama (or lack thereof) The Food? Good.not great some Highs some slightly below average meals. Flavors? Were Solid.especially in the seafood dishes. and the desserts! Service? Friendly… but truly someone in management underestimated the workload. It felt like the waitstaff was sprinting a marathon. And now—my only culinary heartbreak: THE SOUP. Great soups, fantastic flavors, but if you like your soup hot… bring a microwave. Everything arrived warm-ish. Room-temperature-french onion energy. It's like they said, “We didn't mean to serve cold soup but we can't keep up.. lol. Buffet & Pizza (AKA Redemption Island) The buffet was excellent. A wide variety, fresh offerings, and plenty to choose from—no fights broke out over the last chicken wing or slice of bacon, which is impressive. And the pizza? Outstanding. MSC makes pizza like their chef has a vendetta against Papa John. The crust so, crispy, delicious. You could feed me that pizza on land, sea, or in a parking lot, and I’d be happy. Cabin & Bar Service Cabin service: Above average. Rooms stayed clean, towels showed up, and nothing mysteriously disappeared. Bar service: Also above average. Drinks were good, bartenders were friendly, and nobody acted like they were rationing ice.lol Entertainment The main shows were… fine. Not terrible, not amazing. More “high school talent show” than “Las Vegas spectacular.” But to MSC’s credit, there were lots of activities happening everywhere on the ship, so boredom never stood a chance. The Ports of call Orlando/Port Canaveral "What can you say.. Visited Coco Beach as a highlight.. Nassau was Awesome "The first time I'd been there is about 10 years" Even with Six "Yes I said six ships in port" the Vibe was GREAT! Finally Ocean Cay MSC’s private island was actually fun. Beach time, activities food, drinks, music—you name it. If you didn’t enjoy yourself at Ocean Cay, that’s between you and your attitude. Staff Friendliness The real MVPs: the crew. Everywhere you went—smiles, helpfulness, and friendly energy. You could ask someone for directions and they’d practically walk you there. My Final Verdict A fun cruise with good food, great pizza, friendly staff, and plenty to do. Could the entertainment be stronger? Yes. Could the soup be hotter? Absolutely. Could the dining room use a few more workers? Without question. But overall? A pleasant week at sea with laughs, Relaxation, and enough kids onboard to remind you why silence sometimes is a blessing Lol.
