Ship Reviews

Ship was just recently refurbished and was nice and clean. Service and staff were fantastic at the bars and MDR. Cabin (balcony) was rather small, with enough space between bed and wall to barely pass. Our cabin attendant was great in accommodating our requests. The pools areas were always overcrowded, so we didn't spend much time there. The food was hit or miss both at the buffet and/or MDR. Note that they are being too strict with the dining time at the MDRs, as they are closing the doors 15 minutes after start time. The steak restaurant (butchers cut) was excellent, serving high quality meat. Entertainment was about average, but it met expectations. Embarkation was a breeze, while disembarkation was a bit slower. Activities are minimal, especially during sea days and none during port visit. All ports visited were really good. Overall, a good cruise to enjoy the holidays with family.

after boarding ship on 9/11/25 and spending 11 days on here we found food repetitive and never hot mostly cold always same soup French onion and always cold.Food stations are very miss mash time you get 1 item you have to search for next item as they are never together which is a easy fix really. The entertainment is very poor ,reception staff are not very helpful but bar staff and coffee staff and cleaners are amazing. when we disembark for islands it is very dysfunctional as staff are not fully trained and senior staff leave them to it causing the staff to have grief which they dont deserve from upset passengers. Also check your bill as items purchased can be put on more than once.If you have a drinks package check that all drinks are included as they hit you with these aren't included.its my first cruise and I wouldn't recommend msc

Our cruise started badly at msc civitavechia cruise port in rome when a check in official kept insisting that the esta approvals we needed as australians visiting the usa had to be 'on paper! A two level escalation finally led to our electronic estas being approved.. We boarded easily thereafter in light traffic. We discovered immediately that although we had pre-booked first sitting dinner throughout the cruise our cruise passes said dinner was at 9 pm! This sort of glitch was a repeating theme on the 21 days of the cruise. A short. Visit to client services desk had us rescheduled to 17:30 dinner. On taking up residence in fantail @ fantastica cabin we noticed an absence of any welcoming amenity and no tissues in the bathroom. A request to our assigned steward we nicknamed bali bill rectified the problem quickly. Our bags arrived almost immediately and we set sail for genoa that evening. At dinner in the black crab inclusive restaurant we met at table with the eight people that would become our cruise mates for 21 days. Puerto ricans, persians, canadians and koreans, lovely people all. In ensuing days the ship stopped at genoa, barcelona, valencia, alicante and málaga, the latter a substitute for lisbon dropped from the itinerary because of as port strike.. Having visited all of those places before we elected to go ashore only in alicante to catch up with my wife's tennis mate from years ago who now resides n spain. By now certain recurring themes in the cruise were established. Firstly while he food in the black crab was of fair average cruise quality it was usually reaching the table cold. Our assigned restaurant stewards did their best to address the issue. And the wine list often could not deliver bottles supposedly available that day. Again our sommelier came into action to find alternatives.we had eschewed the drinks package as light drinkers and took just bottled wine at dinner from a reasonable international wine list. Now a week into our cruise we had noticed a series of issues with cabin that would dog us through out the cruise. Firstly the air con made a noise like a chaff cutter that kept us awake at night. Secondly a water leak from a ceiling light inside the cabin door left a wet patch on the carpet and dampness in the cabin for the entire cruise that we considered to be a health hazard. Finally, and most vexing, the shower was cold only in the morning and scalding hot only in the evenings. Repeated requests to address these issues with guest services created activities and frequent commitments but no solution to the problems. In desperation we resorted to using the shower at the fantail pool in preparing for dinner!. After málaga we stopped at funchal in madeira and then began the six day non stop atlantic crossing. Be now we had settled into a daily ritual around one of two pools, the fantail pool or the midships aqua park where there was frequent entertainment. lunch daily was usually salads from the vast and chaotic buffet were the food choices were truly mind boggling!. Dinner was always in the gorgeous black crab and when the chef was switched from euro to usa mode mid cruise the food improvement was very noticeable. The crossing was rougher than five previous similar itineraries years ago but divina handled it well. We regularly made about 20 knots but many guests complained about violent vibration throughout the ship at higher speeds. The crossing ended in st john barbuda and there were further uneventful stops at st maarten and puerto rico where we cleared usa. Immigration and were we said farewell to four puerto rican cruise mates who disembarked. two days at sea saw us the disembark in miami, uneventfully. By cruise end the black crab menus were of a high standard... but cold.food was a recurring issue. Some summary comments. We loved msc divina the ship. In sparkling condition after a 2025 refit and meticulously maintained by an industrious crew, we saw the italian palazzo style with a touch of las vegas really appealing.. We loved the attitude, care and attention to duty of the. Crew and had real affection for our cabin steward and the wine and food stewards in the black crab. We loved the informal, approachable, calm and friendly ethic of the cosmopolitan complement of guests on this cruise and made some good friends amongst cruise mates. We tolerated the sometimes frustrating italian disorganisation and lived with it through out. We thought at the price we paid we got value for money and we would likely cruise with msc again. Perhaps msc would like to make us an offer in compensation for the problems with our cabin that we're never resolved. Divina will always be in our hearts and memories. Cheers.
