Ship Reviews

Sailing in Aqua Class aboard Celebrity Beyond was a truly special experience. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that comfort, relaxation, and attention to detail were top priorities. The stateroom’s private balcony quickly became my favorite feature. Each morning, I enjoyed fresh ocean air and breathtaking views, whether it was a peaceful sunrise with coffee or a glowing sunset at the end of the day. The room itself was thoughtfully designed, with premium bedding, spa-inspired amenities, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Aqua Class also offered exclusive perks that elevated the trip — from priority access to the Persian Garden’s thermal suites to wellness-focused dining at Blu. The meals at Blu were a highlight, offering fresh, flavorful dishes that were both healthy and beautifully presented, paired with exceptional service. What truly made the voyage unforgettable, however, was the genuine warmth and professionalism of the Celebrity Beyond crew. Every interaction was friendly and attentive, with staff anticipating needs before I even mentioned them. Overall, Aqua Class on Celebrity Beyond delivered the perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and outstanding hospitality. It wasn’t just a cruise — it was a rejuvenating escape I look forward to experiencing again.

We loved the ship. Service was top notch, really improved entertainment. We were in a suite so dined many meals in Luminae. Our cabin was a very good size- a sky suite- only complaint is that even though the AC was always on, it had a stuffy smell. Our cabin attendant was excellent as was our butler. We enjoyed the steak house, Eden and the roof top grill- all very good with great service. While we didn't dine in the buffet- it was full of great choices. Cafe al baccio was great for coffee treats. The Martini bar a favorite hang out of ours. Miss the ice top , but service and bar services excellent. We didn't sail with family, so no use of children's clubs. Embarkation and disembarkation easy. suite lounge and suite sun deck highlights of the cruise- we had no real interaction with the suite concierges. We did enjoy the adult solarium comfortable seating- nice pool. Had lunch one day at Le petite chief- the panini side of the restaurant, it was very good with generous portions. Nice to chat with people from all over the world. We didn't participate in any games or day time activities. So many options- we enjoyed our private beach days, one at Mr. Sanchos beach club in Cozamel another at a Holiday inn in grand cayman. Other days we enjoyed the piers and back on the ship.

We are experienced cruisers on our 51st cruise, 6th with Celebrity. They accept the Diamond status that we have accrued from Royal. We are in our late 60’s. I am a professional writer, and I take my contributions to Cruise Critic seriously. This is my 30th review here. My reviews are thorough and perhaps some would say verbose. If you want to simply cut to the chase, then I can tell you that this is among the best of the best in every aspect although not as family oriented as Royal. We have migrated to Celebrity largely because of our age but read on because this isn’t Holland America. Celebrity does so many things right that they are remarkably close to perfect. If you want a shortcut, count the stars. If you want to know the hows and whys, I encourage you to read on. We arrived at the pier around 10:45. We purchased Priority Access which, among other things, allows us to board at 11:00 regardless of our scheduled boarding time. It was breathless. The porters presumed that we had such access because of our early arrival and guided us to the right area. There is a special lunch in the MDR. Unlike the RCCL equivalent, they don’t take your carry-on bag to your room which is unfortunate. Both of our bags were getting heavier by the minute, and it would have been nice to unload them. It was difficult to explore the ship with bags in tow. It would have been nice to drop off our bags somewhere. Lunch was at noon. There were more people with Priority Access that I expected. This was disappointing. I admit that I am not certain that I will buy Priority Access on my next Celebrity cruise while I definitely would on RCCL. More on that reasoning later. Room: We were in an Infinite Veranda. This was our first experience with this controversial stateroom and we have only one complaint. We love the room. We love the extra space and we used it more than we use a regular balcony. However, the A/C should remain on when the terrace doors are closed. If you open the balcony window, the A/C shuts off (understandable) and all the mirrors fog (including my computer screen) instantly. This sucks. I should be able to lounge on the balcony with the terrace door shut while my wife gets ready for dinner. Otherwise, a great location, easy to find and we had a great steward. Public Areas: All in excellent shape. Clean. Attractive. Entertainment: The shows are different than what you see on Royal. You won’t see Broadway shows, but the resident singers and dancers are excellent. A couple of nights featured a solo vocalist which isn’t our preference. I thought that Eden had acrobatic shows, but I don’t believe so. I never saw one advertised, and I don’t see apparatus in the ceiling. The Theatre featured an Illusionist who is resident aboard the Beyond for a good reason. From Britian’s Got Talent TV Show, Matt Johnson is extraordinary. The theatre itself is a technical marvel. It is a theatre-in-the-round. There are no canvas-cloth-whatever backdrops. They are all video screens all around… curved and moving. Amazing. We got a backstage tour. Incredible. Drinks: We don’t really drink much these days so we would never consider a drink package. Still, I can’t help but comment. The drinks are expensive, and I *think* that the ones that you see in Bar Drink Menus are not included in the drink package or would incur an upcharge. I’m not sure about this, but the menus that I looked at had drinks at $17 and more. Back when cruises were trying hard to sell you drinks, there were waiters everywhere at the casino and the pool hawking drinks. It was annoying. Now, that never happens. The cruise lines are clearly making it a little more difficult to get a drink now that you’ve already paid for them. This is fine with me because I am not bothered my drink-pushers but it is probably annoying to those that want 15 drinks a day. This has nothing to do with the Celebrity Beyond. All ships are like this now and it's not hard to understand why. The drinks we did have were well made and the bartender show in the Atrium is pretty cool. Staff: All the staff was top notch without exception. Dining: We are Specialty Dining people. This is not to suggest that the MDR is not acceptable, edible, or appropriate or perfectly suitable to your needs. It's just that we are foodies and we can’t resist the premier dining experiences. Back when we did not buy the Unlimited Specialty Dining Package, we would end paying out-of-pocket on a nightly basis at whatever restaurant we were in the mood for or had space. Breakfast- Across the board, this meal was an epic fail, which is disappointing because I love a king’s breakfast. I mentioned earlier about Priority Access. One of the included features is unlimited Room Service with Gratuity and Service Charges waived. This seemed to be a chance for a real treat. Sadly, the breakfast was nothing special at all… 4 or 5 on a 1-10 scale. We tried twice. On the top deck, the breakfast was nothing beyond “ok”. We did go to the MDR for breakfast, pardon me, and I was excited to see a “french omelette” on the menu. My wife and I both jumped on that but, alas, it was not to be. What they served was in no way a “french omelette”. Someone doesn’t know what a “french omelette” is. So once again, breakfast fell short. Lunch- The Unlimited Specialty Dining package allows us lunch on seadays at the Specialty venues which is a real treat. We went to the Rooftop Grille for a great burger in a nice atmosphere. We had sushi at Raw on 5. We went way over what they allow on the dining package, but we didn’t care. We loved every bite! But even better still was the Grand Bistro, a French inspired bistro. The pate is fantastic as was every other item that we ordered. This is the best lunch at sea. When we returned from a brief time on St. Thomas, it was lunchtime, and we figured that we would check out the food on the buffet which we rarely visit. I was thoroughly impressed. So much so that I could not help but wonder what the spreads were like on the other days when I did not do up there to observe. The theme was French Cuisine. They had Duck L’Orange, Seafood Quiche and made-to-order Crème Brulee! It was great and tasty! Dinner- This is in a league all its own. Le Voyage is one of the best restaurants we have ever visited on land or sea. My photos are of the food there. There is a $20-$50 upcharge over the dining package fee to dine there. We went twice. Eden, a close second, we also ate there twice. Incredible food. Somehow, the Filet Mignon here is the best that I have ever had anywhere. Raw on 5. We repeated some of the lunch items that we loved and ordered some that we had yet to try. This place is amazing. Le Petit Chef is a unique dining experience, however the show that they had on the Edge was a little better than this one. I have no clue if they have changed it on the Edge. Fine Cut Steakhouse was disappointing. I asked for a rare prime rib. It's annoying when you order rare prime rib and they give you their *rarEST* even if it's medium like what I got. I returned it for a medium-rare rib-eye. It came to me rare. My wife was done eating by then. It was disappointing. In the final analysis, this cruise had pluses and minuses. But the pluses far overshadow the negatives. Celebrity does many, many things right. In fact, the things that they do wrong can easily be corrected and this can be a perfect cruiseship/cruiseline. There are some things that they do that I like so much that I cannot live without. Consider the following: The much-discussed Infinite Balcony would be perfect, in my opinion if the A/C worked with the terrace doors closed. Probably a technical challenge, I admit. When RCCL introduced Dynamic dining on the Quantum of the Seas, we are in the small group that loved it. Cruisers hated it for whatever reason. Celebrity formulated the perfect compromise. Each of the 4 MDR’s have menu items that are unique to them (Italian items in Tuscan, for instance) as well as daily items that are available at all MDR’s. It's the perfect blend of traditional dining and Dynamic Dining. This is great for those that are not doing Specialty Dining. Celebrity needs a Diamond club. I won’t sail on a RC ship that doesn’t have one and I was angry that the Club was closed to Diamond members between 5pm and 7pm on the Harmony recently. Celebrity offers cocktails to Diamond/Elite members at certain bars between 5 and 7 but the Diamond club is a nice place to get away from the crowds and the continental breakfast and espresso machine is a nice touch. There is status match between Celebrity and RCCL but Diamond on Royal has better perks than Elite on Celebrity. It would be nice to have the same bennies. I absolutely love that the room steward services the room twice a day. That’s enough for me to switch to Celebrity permanently. I love that there are no public announcements into staterooms. I love that you’re treated like a special guest at an exclusive resort. When we are done with dinner, we just get up and go. There is no running after to you to sign a check for a $0.00 amount. And there were times when there was a check with a glass of wine or something. The waiter simply says, “Shall I place the balance on your account?” “Yes, thank you.” Instead of chasing us out the door. So classy. Similarly, when you need towels at the pool, you don’t need to sign them out and show proof to return. They don’t assume that you plan to steal their towels. All things considered, this was an exceptional cruise. I do not, however, recommend Celebrity across the board. I am not fond of the older ships due to their lack of restaurant choices. Truth be told, we probably would be very happy with the dining choices however, but we are definitely seduced but the likes of Eden and Le Voyage. Keep in mind that if you need a rock wall, surf simulator and a water park, this is the cruise that you want to take without the kids. That said, the kids aboard seemed to enjoy themselves too! Bottom line: Beyond is well worth your time and money. We loved it.

Not your normal celebrity cruise about 300 kids. Pools and hot tubs overcrowded. Blu restaurant portions are getting smaller. Service was good. Room steward was great only seen him twice. Getting on and off ship was excellent. Sunset bar very dull. Needs some music at the 3 to 6 o’clock hour. The ship is beautiful. I myself would not bring kids on this ship not much to do compared to royal and Disney. The buffet has to be one of the best. Pizza is fair .Thin as a sheet of paper. The infinite veranda is useless . The aqua class is definitely worth it . The rooms are big and enough storage. The drink package is interesting. Not a martini or liquor drinker but it seems every one had to pay a up charge. A good selection of beers. If you drink a package is the way to go. All coffees included.

There’s no shortage of entertaining venues on board. Spend the day swimming in the pool with the kids, then watch the sunset while relaxing in one of our elevated hot tubs. Gather on board for movie night under the stars, silent disco parties, hot glass classes, and archery tournaments —so many activities to share. Don’t miss the views from the Lawn Club or the Resort Deck, which provides the ultimate backdrop for a picture-perfect family photo.

Family Friendly Excursions

One of the top reasons we’re one of the best cruise lines for families is because we offer an array of family-friendly shore excursions at over 300 port destinations. With activities varying from cultural tours to thrilling water sports, families will have no trouble finding a number of exciting excursions such as swimming with dolphins, hiking up volcanoes or glaciers, and strolling through ancient Mayan ruins.

Family Luxury at The Retreat

The Retreat is the ultimate luxury vacation experience on board. Families staying at The Retreat will not only enjoy a private sundeck*, but also spacious suite accommodations with expansive verandas and large lounge areas, where the whole family can comfortably relax and spend time together. Those traveling with multiple family members can stay at our Penthouse Suite or book one of our breathtaking Iconic Suites, which span over 2,500 square feet.

*The Retreat Sundeck available on Edge Series and Revolutionized ships.

Unforgettable Family Cruise Destinations

With over 300 destinations on our itineraries, there are plenty of exciting places waiting to be discovered. Tropical islands, cosmopolitan cities, seaside villages, and rustic towns are all on the agenda.

Take the family on a cruise to Alaska, where you’ll sail through the famous Inside Passage and witness the magic of towering glaciers and the stunning wilderness of the Last Frontier. If you’re looking for a little bit more culture, head on one of our European journeys, where you’ll stroll past ancient buildings, feast on exquisite cuisine, and stop by picturesque towns. As for a sun-soaked vacation, it doesn’t get much better than a cruise to the Caribbean, where white sand beaches and turquoise waters await.

Fun, Engaging and Enriching Family Cruise Experiences. Never the Same Camp Twice.

Our cruises offer unforgettable experiences for kids of all ages. With fun games, outdoor activities, video game tournaments, and slumber parties all on the agenda, your kids will have the time of their life during their family vacation on board.

Camp at Sea is the only fully customisable kids cruise program in the industry. With over 500 activities to participate in, our schedule changes every sailing depending on the interests of our young cruisers. From arts and recreation to science and technology, we cover all types of subjects and hobbies, making sure every kid (no matter their interests), feels entertained and engaged during their family cruise.

Celebrate the Holidays on Celebrity Cruises

Kids will love celebrating the holidays on our cruise ships. With festive decorations and themed events, we make it easy to get into the holiday spirit. Children will love building gingerbread houses, singing along with carollers, and enjoying a visit from Santa, who always makes a special appearance bearing gifts.
