Ship Reviews

The cruise was awesome. Crew we pleasant, food was good for the most part. Tuscan grill was extremely disappointing. My appetiser didn't come until after my entree, I had to ask for it then. My steak was supposed to be a 12 oz ribeye medium rare. I think It was a 6 oz strip. I should have sent it back, that's on me. We didn't eat at any of the other dinning rooms. The buffet was the largest buffet I have ever seen on any cruise ship. They changed the menu daily so it wasn't the same everyday. The food on the buffet was really good and the variety was great. There is something for everyone. The ship size is perfect, not too big not too small. We didn't go to the show's so I can't speak to that. Overall, the cruise was awesome, we will be going on celebrity again.

This was my 5th cruise overall: 3-night Bahama Cruise on Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas in 2003 with wife -- barely remember it 2 Disney Cruises around 2015 with wife and kids 7-night Royal Caribbean on Harmony of the Seas over XMAS 2022 with wife and kids 4-night Celebrity on Reflection 7/14 – 7/18 2025 with wife This was our first trip without kids in 18 years, so we splurged and got a suite. This was a last-minute trip, so the only suite available was the Aqua Sky Suite. We didn’t see a reason to go for a Celebrity Suite or higher since it was just the two of us. Embarkation: Our scheduled time to board was 12:30. I was late checking in by a few days, so I don’t know if this was the first slot available in general or if earlier slots were already filled. We landed at FLL at 09:00, Uber’ed by Walmart to pick up some things that we couldn’t carry on the airplane (sunblock, aloe, etc . . .), then to the cruise terminal. We arrived at the terminal around 10:30am. We found the entrance for the suite guests and were escorted to a cordoned off waiting area with snacks and drinks while we waited. About 11:30 the ship was released for boarding, and we were told we could board the ship. We were also told we could drop our things off in the room, but we were asked not to hang out in the room since it was still being serviced. When dropping off our bags at the curb, the baggage handlers had small staplers to secure the bag tags around the luggage handles. Food: We did not want to pay more for specialty dining, so I can’t comment on any of them. We did check the menu every night for Blu, Luminae, and Main Dining Room. We ate breakfast in Blu once because their eggs benedict came with spinach. One morning we ate breakfast at the buffet. Eggs benedict there were cooked through. We had a few late-night snacks at the buffet. Nothing fantastic, but the sandwiches I tried were flavorful and varied. Didn’t try the pasta, pizza, or desserts on offer. We ate all our other meals in Luminae. We ordered off the Opus menu a couple times to get an interesting sounding appetizer or a particular entrée (e.g. prime rib from Opus). On a couple occasions we got two apps and/or two entrees each. Service in Luminae was great. Décor might have been a little dated, but it was comfortable, not too loud, and not too crowded. The longest we waited for a table was less than 10 minutes. The food was really good throughout. Once an order of lamb came medium well when I had ordered med rare. Mentioned it, and the order was refired within a few minutes. Presentation was very nice as well. I was a little surprised that lobster wasn’t on the menu other than a single appetizer the first night. Lobster night in main dining room was something I had really enjoyed on our last cruise on Royal Caribbean. I found that there was a good variety to choose from on each meal. Breakfast was kind of a disappointment. Sure, I could get a custom omelet or eggs benedict every day, but there weren’t any daily specials for breakfast items. Don’t remember seeing any kind of over-the-top French toast or other breakfast dishes. Same options every day for breakfast. Our next to last morning we went to the buffet for breakfast to have some variety. That being said the food was better on Celebrity than on the most recent Royal Caribbean cruise. But that might not be a completely fair comparison -- Main Dining Room and Buffet on Royal Caribbean compared to Luminae on Celebrity. Casino: It was smoke free!!! I played some Blackjack, Craps, and some Slots. Dealers were personable, and patient when I or someone else did something wrong with a bet or had a basic question about a game. Overall, I had a good time. Wish minimums were a little lower on the table games, but I could always get a seat/spot within a few minutes. Bar service while playing was prompt. Was never asked for Seapass card while gaming. Either they knew I had Premium drink package from when I cashed in at the table or drinks were free while gaming. Bars: The bars were hit or miss with one exception. My typical drink is a caipirinha (cachaca, lime, sugar, simple syrup, lime juice). Ordered it at 4 different bars around the ship on day one and got four different versions; none were very good. Then I found the World Class Bar and Danil. He made excellent drinks and a spot-on caipirinha. All the drinks I had at World Class Bar were fantastic. Danil was also the instructor for the two mixology classes we took. Drinks were more consistent on Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas from bar to bar. There were more obvious options for frozen drinks on that cruise as well. I must admit I never ordered one on this cruise, so maybe it was just me. Entertainment: Abba Sing Along was fun. The different trivia sessions were fun too. We didn’t do the Silent Disco or the game shows. Did one of the stage shows – Feel the Funk. Really good singers and energy, but just a mediocre show in general. Nothing has lived up to the Disney shows we saw on those cruises. We walked on the pool deck once, so I can’t comment on pool or activities they had up there. Played bocce ball for :15 minutes before we left Port Lauderdale. Didn’t go back. Too hot. Karaoke was an experience. I mean this will all the admiration and respect possible because I could never do it, but some people were really bad. When that happened the band’s volume seemed to be turned up a little to mask the singer a little. On the Royal Caribbean cruise, the people singing were all legit. Ship: Our favorite place was probably the Sky Observation Lounge. Comfortable setting for trivia, karaoke and when nothing was going on. Ship was a great size. Could quickly get from one end to the other easily. Signage is a little confusing at first. Sushi on 5 is listed as Bistro on 5 on the glass ship displays. I don’t remember seeing Luminae on any of the signs. The signs next to and in the elevators were also not 100% complete/accurate. Some places weren’t referenced; some old names were still listed. This was just a one-time issue when getting one’s bearing on the ship. I wasn’t nuts about the layout of the ship. The bars were often in the main corridor, so there were always people passing by. Would have preferred more of an entrance/door into the bars/lounges to truly separate the space. We talked to Guest Service and the Shore Excursion desk on a couple of occasions. Everyone was always professional, polite, and quick to address our questions. Michael’s Lounge: Accessible to only Retreat guests. Stopped by a few times to relax. Appreciated all the grab-and-go beers, sodas, water, and ciders. It was quiet and calm, so a great place to escape from the hub-bub of the ship if you didn’t want to be in your room. Very nice perk of the Retreat. Michael’s also helped during disembarkation; more on that below. Room: Room was comfortable. Really enjoyed the added width to the room that the Suite afforded. Probably 4-5 feet between the end of the bed and built in desk. I am hot natured, so I prefer hotel rooms/cruise cabins to be almost like meat lockers. The AC was not up to that standard, but it was still good. Room was cool, but I wouldn’t say cold. Slept comfortably enough regardless. Beds were fine as well. Don’t remember ever hearing any noise from the pool deck or anything else. There was one loud metallic bang we heard, but I think that was when we were docking in Key West. We were under the spa café on 14, so we didn’t have to contend with deck chairs being rearranged all the time. We’d stay in this room again. Getting access to Blu and other spa perks were nice-to-haves, but we didn’t use them much. Depending on room location and price difference we might go with a regular Sky Suite instead of the Aqua Sky Suite next time. On a couple of occasions, the shower was only luke-warm. Pressure was great all the time. The umbrella in the room was appreciated since it was raining in Key West. At first I was annoyed that there were only two American outlets and one international outlet in the room. We brought an international adapter that gave us two more plugs and two usb plugs. Useful for charging phones. The room attendant noticed that I had dropped off a cpap in the room when first coming on board, so she let me know that she’d bring an extension cord. She also asked if I needed any distilled water. After I realized we didn’t have anything else to plug in besides my cpap, only having two plugs wasn’t a hard ship at all. Ship Excursions: We did two mixology classes and a Behind the Scenes: Navigation and Engineering. Highly recommend them all. Learned how to properly stir a drink, how to shake a drink, how to layer drinks as well as the history about the drinks themselves. Made 3 full size drinks in each class. Found two new drinks that I like: Bahama Mama and La Chica Loca. Looking forward to doing them at home. Spa: Never stepped into it. Shore Excursions: We docked in Key West and Bimini, so it was quick and easy to get off the boat. Took a few minutes waiting in line to go through security coming back on the boat. Not a big deal though. We did not go through the cruise line for the Secret Food Tour in Key West. Substantial savings doing it direct with the vendor. I had zero concern about missing the boat, so it was not worth the premium of booking through the cruise. Wife and I were the only two in our tour group. Three other people did book through the cruise line, and they had their own tour guide. Both groups made the same stops. I highly recommend the Secret Food Tour. Learned a lot about Key West history and culture and how both influenced the food. We are not beach people, so we didn’t go to any beaches in Bimini. Instead, we did the conch tasting at the resort. It was a good time. Got to see conch harvested from a conch shell. Two volunteers got to try it themselves. Chef prepared conch salad and had conch fritters and cracked conch. Learned about the history of conch in Bimini. Also had a couple of drinks available – Bahama Mama and I forgot the other. Could have as much food and drink as wanted. Free Shuttle Tram took us to the resort from the ship and the demonstration was in an air-conditioned room next to the roof top infinity pool. After the class we were free to enjoy the resort amenities including bars, pools, and casino. We elected to head back to the cruise ship. We waited a few minutes for the next tram but it was full. Instead of waiting who knows how long until one had an open seat, we took a golf cart “cab” to the dock. It was $5 per person. The golf cart could not go all the way to the ship, so we had to walk down the pier. It was only a 5 minute walk. Disembarkation: Our flight was at 2:30, so we were not in a rush. We ate breakfast in Luminae around 8:00. I’m not sure exactly what time they released people to disembark. After breakfast we went back to room, got our luggage, and waited in Michael’s Lounge. (We hadn’t felt like packing in time to put our bags out the night before, so we had to bring our bags ourselves). All around the ship people were sitting around in chairs in the bars and lounges waiting to get off the boat. Things almost felt tense or anxious. Being in Michael’s Lounge was a great escape from that. Around 9:00am it seemed they wanted us to leave since all bags had been delivered to the terminal building. Perk of Michael’s is that we were walked to the front of the line of people waiting to exit the ship. We were off in minutes then had to walk past the bag retrieval area, go through customs, and we were outside. The entire process was less than 8 minutes. Had I realized it would have been that quick I would have requested the Uber before we left Michael’s Lounge. It was a great vacation. Very relaxing with no stress. We are looking forward to our next cruise.

This was our 5th Celebrity cruise and the line continues to provide a great experience, with some declines in food presentation and quality in main dining room, at least on this past sailing experience. It's obvious that cost cutting on the shorter cruises in food presentation and variety is one area of delcine , noticed reduced menu and choices in main dining room for lunch and dinner, however very Friendly staff! great service! Ship is in good condition considering its age, super clean...well maintained in all areas. We always enjoy the entertainment but found the main production shows to be somewhat dated and need to be changed. Compared to the Edge class ships the Solstice class production shows are limited in what they can present. Embark and disembark was a breeze. We never had a bad encounter with any of the staff at any time. Service in bars and lounges was fast and friendly as well. Casino was smoke free and kept very clean. Ship is spotless and so was our inside cabin. Great value for the buck!

The cruise was awesome. Crew we pleasant, food was good for the most part. Tuscan grill was extremely disappointing. My appetiser didn't come until after my entree, I had to ask for it then. From morning until night, there are literally hundreds of different activities happening on a Celebrity cruise ship. The only question is, which ones are perfect for you?

Bar & Lounges

We take pride in the unique features of each venue.

Each of our clubs, bars and lounges is a unique destination unto itself, with menus offering a diverse selection of classics to complement the latest trends. Some also reflect the regions we visit. To keep our menus dynamic and fresh, we work with a variety of sources including mixologists from the brands we serve and our creative, passionate team of beverage specialists at each bar.

BEVERAGE PACKAGES

One price. Zero worries. The best way to enjoy your favourite drink throughout your cruise is by purchasing one of our convenient beverage packages before you board. Pay one set price to enjoy a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, premium coffees, wine by the glass, endless refills of sodas featuring Coca-Cola® products, and unlimited bottled water.
