Ship Reviews

We are just back from what was overall a very nice experience. We enjoyed the "smaller" size of this ship - much more pleasant for us than a 5-6000 person behemoth. The ship is a bit dated (think bathrooms in need of refurbishment and lumpy pillows), but it is clean and had all the necessities. The staff was incredible - friendly, courteous, focused on delivering service. We were very glad we upgraded to the Retreat and Aqua Class - which gave us the opportunity to dine at Luminae and Blu - the servers (JOYCE) were superior and the food inventive and quite good. The evening entertainment was fun and we made it a point to go each evening. The pool deck was absolutely mobbed - we were hard pressed to find a chair and rarely ventured there. That may be the downside of all cruises. Our greatest disappointment was the shore excursions. We booked a small group tour for each of the ports of call. A few of them exceeded the advertised group size. The tour guides were a mixed lot. In a few cases they were excellent (Rhodes, Ephesus), in others fair at best. We realized the tours were unnecessary in Santorini (would have been easier, cheaper, less stressful to just take the cable car up and wander), Mykonos (there was a shuttle to the old port - again, we could have wandered on our own), Hydra (again, easy to walk around after the tender, no need to spend $$ on a so-so tour). The ports of call were lovely. Finally, Celebrity and the staff of the Infinity managed the embarkation and debarkation marvelously. It was all very easy and organized. In sum total, we would recommend Celebrity and this cruise, just suggest saving money on some of the shore excursions.

We really enjoyed our end-of-season Greek Isles cruise on Infinity. It wasn't all peaches and cream, but I would recommend this cruise, especially at this time of year. Infinity is an older ship, but well maintained and very clean. I appreciated the fact that there were only 2200 guests on board. Nothing was overcrowded where ever we went. She could use a refresh; there is no need for a ship to have a Cellar Masters and a Rendezvous Lounge- They are the same place! There are other odd spaces throughout the ship that could be better utilized. Our Veranda cabin was in great shape and our attendant was top notch. Bonus for us was a double-sized balcony. (Read the CC expert review to find out which Deck 6 cabins have these!) I also have to applaud Celebrity for their logistical abilities. We never waited in a line that was managed by them. From embarkation, tendering, going to/from shore and disembarkation, everything was a breeze. The crew is dedicated and friendly. Every interaction with them was pleasant. Now the bad. Entertainment was average. I thought the comedian and the magician were good. The "Rockin Violinists" stretched every song into a 10 minute ordeal. The ship's performers put on a decent show but nothing extravagant. The cruise director's staff were a little disengaged, especially during the day. The food is where Infinity really dropped the ball. We didn't do any specialty dining, just the buffet for breakfast and lunch and MDR for dinner. The breakfast buffet was atrocious. My Kingdom for a properly cooked strip of bacon that doesn't crumble to bits when touched! The cooked items were bland and lukewarm. The fruit didn't taste that fresh. Lunch was a little better, but just a little. Their themed dishes were pretty unremarkable. Meats usually overcooked and dry. The carving station offerings were just bad- dried out or horribly over seasoned. Cold cuts, cheeses and calzones were good though. Also the burgers they served at the grill by the pool were flavorless wads of gristle that you get to top with a cold slice of cheese. Bleh. The MDR was inconsistent at best. The first two days were just terrible. Maybe that was by design to push people towards specialty dining. After that a couple dishes every night would be decent. The every-day selections ranged from mediocre to "the worst French onion soup I've ever had". Then after seven days of disappointment they rolled out beef Wellington, lobster tails, duck a l'orange, baked Alaska and more, and it was all great! Why can't they do that more often!? At least spread some of those selections to other days! And I will add that portions varied wildly with no indication of how much food you would actually get. Despite the food issues and so-so entertainment, I thought this was an enjoyable way to see Greece. The weather was perfect and the ports were not crowded. Because it was the end of the season, the price was good and I feel like we got good value.

Kids and Teen Programs - The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.

Don’t miss the views from the Lawn Club or the Resort Deck, which provides the ultimate backdrop for a picture-perfect family photo.

Family Friendly Excursions - One of the top reasons we’re one of the best cruise lines for families is because we offer an array of family-friendly shore excursions at over 300 port destinations.
