Ship Reviews

The good: Ship was well appointed and clean There is a lot of space and it does not feel crowded. Crew was friendly Ports were fantastic. I can’t stress how much I was surprised by the stops and the hours. I esp enjoyed the 11:30 pm dep from Rhodes. The Bad: The cruise was hardly cheap but I felt nickel and dimed at every turn. $7 for a bottle of water in the room $5 for a small bag of chips. (These at the min should be complimentary) Want breakfast in your room? $10 for that. $24 for a 45 min yoga class. Why am I paying for this? $19 for a nice glass of wine. I could go on but you get the idea. The drink package was priced for extremely heavy drinkers to make financial sense. The non alcoholic one would require 5-6 lattes or similar a day to pay for itself. It feels like you pay to get on and then they try to squeeze every dime out of you. Tuscan Grill was very disappointing. It was around $80pp and the food was very very average. A few extra points: The food in the dinning rooms was average. You can book shore excursions via Trip Advisor for 1/3 to 1/2 the cost and they pick you up at the pier. I may sound disappointed but I am not. It was a lovely cruise and one I would recommend. I just feel that I paid a great deal and had to pay a great deal more to get what I expected to be included. If you know this going in you will be prepared.

Celebrity continues to be the best cruise line at this price point, and after completing our 5th voyage with them, compares favorably to Princess, Holland America, and Royal Caribbean, who we've also sailed with. The Infinity is an older but well maintained ship, and the staff's friendliness and stellar service more than made up for it being an older ship. The buffet at breakfast and lunch offered tasty offerings and a satisfying variety of choices. Dinner in the main dining room was outstanding every evening, and our nightly servers were fantastic! We didn't try any specialty restaurants. Our cabin steward was also outstanding, as our balcony was clean and comfortable anytime we returned. Opting for excursions or roaming around seaports, we didn't peruse any daytime entertainment, but the nightly shows were amazing! A wonderful ship band and singing/dancing cast entertained cruisers with a couple of great shows, as well as a headliner singer and multi-instrument musician, all in a well-designed theatre. But in 9 cruise embarkations, I have never been a part of a slower check-in process. It didn't seem that Celebrity staff heeded the staggered check-in times, first waiting as a huge group in the central tent, then herded like cattle through the switch back lines. I've never seen this, it must have been almost an hour to get on board. Overall, I always recommend Celebrity to those inquiring into cruise line options.

We recently returned from a 7-day Infiniti cruise trip around the Greek islands. Here was a quick snapshot of our experience: Day 1 - boarded in Athens. Boarding was very well organized and efficient. Our bags were tagged and arrived to our door very quickly. We booked an Oceanview room on the second deck. I was worried about space since we brought our 2 adult daughters with us (ages 24 and 18). But there were bunk beds that came down from the ceiling and our bed was quite large. There was plenty of cabinets and room under the bed to store everything. The bathroom was small, but really sufficient. The room was very clean and we slept very well every night. In fact, 5 star stars for the cleanliness of the entire ship! We went to check out fitness center and my daughter won a $150 free raffle, which she used to book a massage later in the trip! Ate dinner in the Trellis dining room at our assigned table next to the window. Food was excellent and service was perfect. Day 2 - Arrived in Mykonos in the AM. After a run on the track on the 10th deck and delicious breakfast at the Oceanview buffet, we arranged an excursion to the beach via Viator. The bus shuttle took us across the island and we loved the tour. However, the advertising was deceptive and our beach chair was $70 extra pp. Regardless, it was a beautiful day and swimming in the cold blue water was the highlight of the trip. The town is really run, and we enjoyed lunch and shopping in Mykonos. The windmills are a great photo op. Day 3 - Arrived in Rhodes in the AM. Took a tour of the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes. It was interesting, but most of the rooms/decor did not have signs, so it was not clear what we were looking at. Perhaps a tour would have been better? We ended up shopping for most of our souvenirs here. Excellent variety, friendly sales (not pushy), and endless shops. We finished early and had lunch back at the buffet on the ship, then swam in the pools. The pools were perfect temperature and not too crowded. There are so many fun activities to choose from and the app makes it easy to go from one to the next. Enjoyed the theater show, then watched a movie on the top deck. Beautiful sunsets! Day 4 - At Sea today. Not my favorite day. Everyone started claiming stake to chairs by the pool starting at 6 AM, so we ended up laying on towels on the deck. Found the audio guided meditation to be relaxing, but could have planned this day better (my fault). Day 5 - Arrived in Kusadasi, Turkey. We booked the ship's excursion to Ancient Ephesus, which included a bus ride 30 minutes away to the archeological sight. Our tour leader was difficult to understand, but we followed along OK. The tour was hot, so bring water. It was truly amazing, just the like the reviews indicated. The stop at the museum was OK, but a bit underwhelming. After returning to Kusadasi, we slid off the bus and avoided the rug tour (our travel agent warned us). So glad we escaped because we heard from others onboard that they were locked in a room for another hour - and it was scary. We tried to visit the shops, but the salesman were extremely demanding and annoying. We went back to the ship instead. Day 6 - Arrived in Santorini. The wait time for the tender can be long, so get there at least 15 minutes early. Ride over to shore went fast and we were able to take the cable car without any problem. We arranged a Viator excursion to hike 6 miles across the island to Oia. Our tour guide was amazing, despite complaints from my daughters about the hot and difficult conditions and the fact that the elderly couple joining us were not able to complete the trip. In the end, I still thought it was amazing (views, workout, sunshine). Unfortunately, there wasn't much time to spend in Oia. I would have liked to walk around. However, the town was a bit smaller than I expected and the stores were high end. We were worn out after returning to Fira, so we went back to the ship. Some of the other passengers bragged about arranging photoshoots in Oia, with the blue calderas in the background, but they said it was a ton of work - and there were long lines. Day 7 - Arrived in Hydra. I enjoyed this island much more than I expected. Quick tender to shore and the town is so cute. Good vibes and happy people everywhere. Cute shops and restaurants. There is a rocky beach where you can swim. Nice way to end the trip. Day 8 - Arrived in Athens. Hard to return to the city after visiting the beautiful islands. Had to wake up early, but leaving the ship was very easy. We carried our own bags and found a taxi. Other details - We added a day in Athens before and after the cruise. We stayed in a remodeled Airbnb which I highly recommend (Hestia Modern Apartments, Dimitressa 4). We had to store our luggage in lockers in the basement due to 3 PM check in time, but it was worth it. Hotel is probably more convenient, but we saved money and had more space. Excellent restaurant nearby called the Ox Meat Tavern. About 40 minute walk to the Plaka (taxis won't drive such a short distance) and Olympic stadium (highly recommend). Purchased 2 adapters to recharge cell phones and an international blow drier in US prior to leaving. Purchased flat iron in Greece on the first day. We ended up having to purchase the Wi-Fi package onboard for our daughters to use social media, but we were able to share the code and I was able to use my cell phone plan for texting home when we were on land. We did not purchase the drink package since we only drank 1-2 drinks/each per day. We brought ~$300 Euros in cash, which was just enough to cover tips, a few flea market items, and a taxi that wouldn't accept card. Card was accepted everywhere (be sure to choose to pay in Euro vs dollar). My daughters loved the Constellation lounge onboard for trivia and games. Food was really high quality and huge selection - SO many options at the buffet and dining room. We purchased tickets for the Acropolis before we left, but the early and late times were all booked. Touring at 12 PM was not super fun in the heat. We ran up the hill, took photos, and left. However, the Acropolis museum was as spectacular as everyone says. We ate lunch in the museum cafe, which was OK, but not amazing. Not many options and slow service due to the crowds. Overall, this was a dream trip. The cruise ship was really what we were looking for - nice tour of the islands, with plenty of onboard activities. Fun parties at the Martini bar and lounges, but also quiet with a mostly adult crowd. Super clean ship and extremely attentive crew. I would recommend this to others.

There has been a lot of talk about the age of Infinity, and she is showing it. We were in Aqua Class. Our shower was so dirty they had to come in and repaint it and also replace the sink waste which was green. Nothing could be done about the cracks in the sink. No hot water for one day. True, they came out quick and sorted it all but you don't expect this on a premium cruise paying a premium amount. Food in BLU was great (always ask to see the Trellis menu as well as it increases the choice). Staff really great though. Was noticeable that Cabin stewards were low in numbers, and having to cover more Cabins than usual. Entertainment was at high level and all staff really friendly. Overall no major complaints but I should have looked at size of cabin before I l3ft. Glad we went but will probably miss Infinity until it has been refurbished.
