LoginAs imagined by AmaWaterways’ Co-Founder, Co-Owner and President Rudi Schreiner, the “Godfather of River Cruising,” the one-of-a-kind AmaMagna is the flagship of our award-winning river fleet. Twice the width of traditional European river ships and offering the luxury of space, four unique dining venues and more leisure opportunities, the innovative AmaMagna has redefined the river cruise experience! Most accommodations are spacious suites measuring 355 to 710 sq. ft. with full balconies.
In addition to the Main Restaurant and The Chef’s Table, AmaMagna offers Jimmy’s, a family-style restaurant named for AmaWaterways’ late Co-Owner Jimmy Murphy, and the intimate Al Fresco Restaurant, serving up delicious vegetable-forward fare. Both a sun-deck pool and whirlpool invite guests to refresh and enjoy the views, while AmaMagna’s Zen Wellness Studio is an expansive space with a fitness center, two massage rooms and a refreshing juice bar. A brand-new full-size pickleball court will also be featured on the Sun Deck, debuting in 2023. With connecting staterooms and triple/quadruple accommodations available, AmaMagna is also the perfect river cruise ship for families and groups!
This beautiful ship, the AmaMagna, sailed us through a wonderful part of the world that was mostly unfamiliar to us. The lower Danube through the Balkan countries showed us lovely scenery, and educated us on the sad, but now hopeful, history of the region. The AmaMagna, as the newest and largest of the fleet, is a wonderful ship with many excellent features because of the “double size” of this ship, including multiple restaurants. We particularly enjoyed enjoyed Jimmy’s Wine Bar, where food is served family style in a cozy setting. As repeating AmaWaterways guests, we always find the service, food, and tours to be impeccable, and this cruise did not disappoint. The staff anticipates your every need, and they cannot seem to do enough to make the trip enjoyable. All the local guides gave us excellent insight into the rich and complex history of each port of call, from daily life and culture, through the layers and layers of history of the five countries visited: Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania. As the introductory cruise information indicates, the scenic highlight is cruising through the Iron Gates, a stunning experience as the Danube rushes through the rising granite gorge. We left the AmaMagna with great memories of friendly smiles, the warmth and kindness from the staff and guides, and new knowledge and appreciation of a new part of the world for us, with an even stronger connection to the “Ama Family.”
Enjoy the comfort and luxury of AmaMagna’s ultra-spacious suites, which account for more than 50% of her accommodations. The majority measure 355 sq. ft., but there are also six Grand Suites at 474 sq. ft., and an indulgent Owner’s Suite at 710 sq. ft. Each suite features a full balcony and a wealth of enticing amenities.
Savor AmaWaterways’ trademark exquisite, locally-sourced and masterfully prepared cuisine. Choose from the Al Fresco Restaurant with its refreshing outdoor space and vegetable-forward menu, as well as Jimmy’s, a family-style restaurant, in addition to The Chef’s Table and main dining room – all included in the price of your cruise.
With a complimentary fleet of bicycles—and helmets—on board, guests have the opportunity to explore on guided bike tours, or discover a new path all on their own. Guided hiking tours also offer active ways to see grand cities and villages from a different perspective.
AmaMagna offers a variety of venues in which you can unwind and connect with kindred cruisers. Spend time in the sun-deck pool or whirlpool; at any of five onboard bars, including the pop-up sky bar; in one of two fireside libraries or within the chic onboard cinema.
Transform your mind, body and soul within the expansive Zen Wellness Studio, an evolution of AmaWaterways’ fitness centers, where you can participate in group classes led by a professionally trained Wellness Host, rehydrate with fresh-squeezed juice at the juice bar, or get a soothing massage in one of two treatment rooms.
Please note: this ship does not feature any children's facilities.
