AmaCerto

Like a fallen leaf floating atop the water, AmaCerto floats effortlessly down Europe’s most fascinating waterways. A harvest theme is carried throughout the ship in autumn reds and golds, from the spacious and well-appointed staterooms, with their plush bedding and soft robes, to the classically elegant Main Lounge with its baby grand piano and bar. An onboard salon puts you center stage and ready for your close-up. On the Sun Deck, a heated pool features a swim-up bar with underwater bar stools, and a walking track provides the perfect venue for a romantic sunrise or sunset stroll. And from the kitchen, you’ll find fine dining to the extreme, with exquisite, regionally inspired cuisine prepared in both the Main Restaurant and at The Chef’s Table specialty restaurant, where views of the rippling river are just the amuse-bouche to every mouthwatering bite.

Ship Reviews

Despite flooding in the region that caused us to board at the second scheduled stop, this was a wonderful experience. The crew went above and beyond to assure that the high water levels had a minimal effect on the tours and ports. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed cruising time on our balcony, seeing lots of birds and other wildlife. The meals were well-prepared with a nice variety of choices. And the wines were superb, especially the local red served at the Chef’s Table. We were fortunate that the tours included a special wine festival in the town of Volkach, which is only presented five times per year and only for Ama cruises. There was a town band, costumed dancers, bratwurst grilled by the butcher who made them and two local wines poured by the wine princesses. Big shout out to our cruise director, Jessi, who proudly wore her dirndl and got us all dancing. We also found out from fellow passengers from Italy, that Roll Out the Barrel is sung in almost every language! Can’t wait for our next Ama cruise.

My family was very impressed with AMA Waterways and the crew. The cruise manager was also outstanding. Our cruise was impacted by a damaged lock which greatly impacted the itinerary but despite this, the company did an amazing job bussing us to most of the destinations and then trying to make up time after the lock was fixed. The rooms, food, and service were also great. My only criticism was that I wish the upper deck had been open more than it was. Despite the lock complication, the company was always committed to making sure people were happy and got the value they paid for. All around and considering the challenges, it was a wonderful cruise! Shout outs to our cruise manager, Veronica, and our servers Sopha and Myra who all enhanced the experience. We hope to do another AMA Waterways cruise in the future. No need to look at other companies.

Our cruise was fantastic, particular thanks goes to the Cruise Manager Martina who did such a great job, going above and beyond duty to make the cruise special. Our cabin was a bit more roomy than I expected, which was a huge plus. The service was top notch, particularly the laundry that we requested. My wife is very particular with her clothes and left specific requests, all of which were followed to a T. The ship itself was kept immaculately clean, so a shout out to the cleaning staff as well. All of the excursions were great, with equally fantastic guides. The schedules were appropriate for all of them, and we never really felt rushed. Dining was very good. Im not sure there was a particular meal that was really the most amazing thing I ever ate, but it was all very good, and well prepared. No complaints foodwise at all. If there was one thing I would do differently next time, is take advantage of some of the classes offered on board the ship. Some of the stretching classes before those long days would have been helpful. The logistics for the cruise - getting to and from the airport, going from hotel to hotel, then to the ship, were executed flawlessly. Hats off to them for that. No doubt, we will go back on another cruise.

The entire crew/staff on the AMACerto was exceptional. Our cruise director kept us informed of times for daily excursions. We wished we had more free time at the various ports. When we returned to the ship, we were able to partake of post-excursion stretch sessions with their Wellness director, and/or enjoy the cocktail or mocktail of the day. Food was good; service was very good. Our room was spotlessly cleaned everyday. We also liked that the shower in our bathroom was a decent size. Evening entertainment was worth attending. We appreciated the limited size of the ship since it enabled us to form friendships with other guests; this made our trip more memorable. Amawaterways also helped us with our pre-cruise stay. The hotel was centrally located so that we could easily walk to a variety of attractions. We recommend this group if you’d like to travel on a small ship.
