Like a fallen leaf floating atop the water, AmaCerto floats effortlessly down Europe’s most fascinating waterways. A harvest theme is carried throughout the ship in autumn reds and golds, from the spacious and well-appointed staterooms, with their plush bedding and soft robes, to the classically elegant Main Lounge with its baby grand piano and bar. An onboard salon puts you center stage and ready for your close-up. On the Sun Deck, a heated pool features a swim-up bar with underwater bar stools, and a walking track provides the perfect venue for a romantic sunrise or sunset stroll. And from the kitchen, you’ll find fine dining to the extreme, with exquisite, regionally inspired cuisine prepared in both the Main Restaurant and at The Chef’s Table specialty restaurant, where views of the rippling river are just the amuse-bouche to every mouthwatering bite.
My family was very impressed with AMA Waterways and the crew. The cruise manager was also outstanding. Our cruise was impacted by a damaged lock which greatly impacted the itinerary but despite this, the company did an amazing job bussing us to most of the destinations and then trying to make up time after the lock was fixed. The rooms, food, and service were also great. My only criticism was that I wish the upper deck had been open more than it was. Despite the lock complication, the company was always committed to making sure people were happy and got the value they paid for. All around and considering the challenges, it was a wonderful cruise! Shout outs to our cruise manager, Veronica, and our servers Sopha and Myra who all enhanced the experience. We hope to do another AMA Waterways cruise in the future. No need to look at other companies.
Our travel agent encouraged us to try amawaterways for our 40th anniversary wedding anniversary cruise. It was a wonderful recommendation! From meeting us at the airport to getting us to our boat. The staff was excellent; helpful, smiling, very competent at their jobs. Janina, our cruise director went above and beyond. Our first tour guide in Bamberg, Bavaria left a lot to be desired. She lost her train of thought often and wasn't very eloquent. After that, every guide we had was very good and gave a lot of information. My husband went on one of the bike rides. He was given a carton of water in the beginning of the trip but there was no place to get a refill after that. 18 miles is a long way with only 1 carton of water. He felt there should have been places to refill along the way or the guides should have had extra in the saddle bags. Our last stop in Trier we once again had a not to great guide. He seemed to think we wanted to hear his opinion quite a bit. We didn't. Our last few days in Paris we very nice. We covered a lot of ground both with tours and on our own. A lovely end to a lovely trip. Having a guide help us through the airport was a BIG help. We truly appreciated his help! We look forward to touring with amawaterways again! Thank You!
My family and I just got back from the Rhine and Moselle fairytales cruise. The itinerary and tours were amazing and well run. The ship had a very active wellness program with lots of things to do on board for all fitness levels. The service and food were incredible. My family had various food allergies and they were more than accommodating. The menu items they were able to alter and create gluten-free were incredible. All the staff went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. I enjoyed the after dinner game the cruise manager hosted and the local musicians that were brought on board. The happy hour with free mixed drinks were a highlight of our day after our excursions. A potential area for improvement would be the evening entertainment. This seemed to be geared to a much older population than was on the ship. More lively music from the 70s and up would have been appreciated.
